Halloween Haunted House Drapes

Easy to create a haunted house look with these creepy drapes made of flat black sheets and a 1x2 board strip. You can also do them out of cheese cloth, or a white sheet with a red light behind it (really creepy).

You will need:
1 large, flat black (not fitted) sheet.
1 1x2 board strip the length of your window.
1 adjustable tension curtain rod the length of your window.
1 stapler (simple office type is fine).
1 pair of good scissors.
Begin by stapling one end of the sheet edge along the thin side of the 1x2. Gently roll the 1x2 over so the black sheet wraps smoothly around itself to cover the exposed wood. Now, install the adjustable tension curtain rod in window about 1-2 inches from the top of the window opening. Place sheet and 1x2 in window by sliding the 1x2 in between the tension bar and the top of your window opening with the fabric side out towards you. Now, begin cutting off the excess sheet around the window opening. Lastly begin cutting jagged strips into the sheet, cutting off the bottoms at varying lengths as shown in picture example. You can leave them long, or cut them with short and long. You can't really go wrong, the more jagged and tattered the better. You can use scissors with a shaped cutting edge, but it's not as quick. After Halloween is over, carefully wrap the curtains up by rolling them up on themselves, place in large garbage bags and store them away for next years use.
