Instantly sets the Halloween mood almost as well as candles. A must in our Halloween party displays.
You will need:
1 large outdoor type patio flower pot.
1 #20 bag dry sand or #10 unused kitty litter.
1-2 large tree branches with turning fall leaves. (cut from the backwoods or yard).
1-2 strings of orange Halloween mini-lights.
enough fishing line to tie back and support tree branches.
Begin by locating 1-2 tree branches that will run from your floor, up to or near your ceiling. (approximate 7 foot) Tree branches with leaves turning fall colors are best. Place the patio pot near your Halloween display or corner, with a friends help place the tree branches in the patio pot while your friend pours the dry sand or kitty litter around the base of the branches.
You may need to tie back the branches to a wall or support by using fishing line. In the pictured example I tied the branches to the leg of the table but I have used a cup hook in the window base and even tied it to an old picture hook. Now, carefully wrap the branches with orange light strings starting at the base. Plug in lights and enjoy.
